Adrian Tomine is an American cartoonist, best known for the ongoing comic book series Optic Nerve and for his illustrations in The New Yorker. His graphic novels include Shortcomings, a satire, and Summer Blonde, along with Killing and Dying, six interconnected stories about family, identity and creative ambition. He also wrote The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Cartoonist, a memoir and collection of essays.
