Allen Drury

Allen Drury was an American novelist known for Advise and Consent, his first novel, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1960. Drury covered the Senate as a reporter during World War II, watching Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman up close, and those years fed his political fiction. He also wrote Pentagon, Into What Far Harbor?, and the ancient Egypt novel A God Against the Gods, which opens the Pharaohs series. He died in 1998.
