Angela Flournoy is an American writer whose debut novel, The Turner House, follows a large Detroit family as they gather at their aging mother's East Side home and weigh what to do with it. The book won the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, was shortlisted for the National Book Award for Fiction, and was named a New York Times Notable Book of 2015. Flournoy was also named a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Honoree in 2015. She also wrote Wilderness, a work of contemporary literary fiction.
