Anne Sexton

Anne Sexton (1928–1974) was an American poet whose confessional verse drew closely on her own life, including her struggles with mental illness. She won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1967 for Live or Die, and she often blended fairy tales, mythology, and religious imagery with autobiographical material. Her books include Mercies, a selection of her poems, and The Complete Poems.
