Arthur Machen

Arthur Machen was the pen name of Arthur Llewellyn Jones (1863–1947), a Welsh author and mystic who wrote supernatural, fantasy and horror fiction. He was best known for the novella The Great God Pan, along with the collections The Three Impostors and Other Stories and The White People and Other Weird Stories. His short story The Bowmen was widely read as fact and helped create the legend of the Angels of Mons. The Hill of Dreams is another of his books.
