Augusten Burroughs is the name on the books of an American writer born in 1965, best known for Running with Scissors (2002), a memoir about a childhood spent in the care of an eccentric psychiatrist and his family. Burroughs also wrote the memoirs and essays A Wolf at the Table, Dry, Magical Thinking and Possible Side Effects, along with the satirical novel Sellevision.
