Bailey Cates's books form the Magical Bakery Mystery series, light detective fiction with an urban fantasy streak. Brownies and Broomsticks opens the series, and Bewitched, Bothered, and Biscotti follows. The stories center on Katie Lightfoot, who takes a job at a Savannah bakery, finds the city's hidden community of witches, and is pulled into murder investigations where baking and a little kitchen magic help her solve the case.
