Ben Okri is a Nigerian-born British poet and novelist, best known for The Famished Road, which won the Booker Prize in 1991. Alongside that trilogy opener, his novels include the science-fiction work Starbook, the magical-realist Songs of Enchantment, and Dangerous Love. Okri was knighted in the 2023 Birthday Honours for services to literature.
