Benyāmin's books are contemporary literary fiction with a coming-of-age thread, and include Goat Days and Jasmine Days. Goat Days follows Najeeb, a migrant worker who goes to Saudi Arabia hoping for a better life and instead finds himself enslaved in the desert, where he has to hold on to hope and to a sense of who he is. It is a story of endurance and the pull of freedom.
