C.M. Waggoner's books are fantasy fiction, including Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry and Unnatural Magic. Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry follows a blunt, determined heroine who sets out to learn magic by her own rules, up against rival students and growing danger. The tone mixes humor with real stakes, and the story turns on ambition and what it takes to gain power.
