Catherine Friend is an American writer of adult nonfiction, fiction, and children's books. Her memoirs Hit by a Farm and Sheepish draw on the 25 years she and her wife, Melissa, spent on Rising Moon Farm, a 53-acre place in southeastern Minnesota where they raised sheep and spun their wool into yarn. Her work has won four Goldie Awards from the Golden Crown Literary Society and the Minnesota Book Award for General Nonfiction, and she has been a finalist for three Lambda Literary Awards and a Judy Grahn Award.
