Cherie Dimaline is a Métis writer best known for The Marrow Thieves, her 2017 young adult novel set in a future where Indigenous people are hunted for their bone marrow. She wrote Red Rooms, her first novel, along with Empire of Wild, and she returned to the same world in Hunting by Stars. She was the founding editor of Muskrat Magazine and the first Indigenous writer-in-residence for the Toronto Public Library.
