Christa Wolf

Christa Wolf was a German novelist and essayist, and is considered one of the most important writers to emerge from the former East Germany. Her books include Cassandra, which retells the Trojan War through the prophetess who foresees the fall of Troy and is never believed, and Medea, a historical novel drawn from classical myth. Wolf also wrote No Place on Earth, a war novel, and The Quest for Christa T., a contemporary story about a woman's coming of age.
