Chuck Klosterman is an American author and essayist who writes about American popular culture, especially rock music and sports. He has been a columnist for Esquire and ESPN.com and wrote "The Ethicist" column for The New York Times Magazine. His essays appear in Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto and Chuck Klosterman IV, and his memoir Killing Yourself to Live sits alongside his novel Downtown Owl. In 2002 he received the ASCAP Deems Taylor award for music criticism.
