Daniel Okrent is an American writer and editor best known as the first public editor of The New York Times and as the inventor of Rotisserie League Baseball. His history books include Last Call, on Prohibition, which won the Albert J. Beveridge prize and served as a major source for the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick miniseries Prohibition. He also wrote Great Fortune, about building Rockefeller Center, and most recently Stephen Sondheim: Art Isn't Easy.
