Daša Drndić was a Croatian writer who studied English language and literature at the University of Belgrade. Her Andreas Ban novels, Belladonna and EEG, follow a retired psychologist in a Croatian coastal town as memories of wartime and Yugoslavia's violent breakup return to him. Across these books Drndić keeps returning to how personal and collective pasts are remembered, buried and argued over, and the novels were written between 1946 and 2018.
