Don Brown's books look at real crises through history and journalism. Drowned City: Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans is a nonfiction account of the storm and the flooding of the city that followed. The Unwanted: Stories of the Syrian Refugees is a graphic novel in a historical vein, centered on Syrian refugees. Both titles take recent, painful events as their subject.
