Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden is a former National Security Agency intelligence contractor who leaked classified documents revealing global surveillance programs. His memoir, Permanent Record, published in 2019, traces his path from an early fascination with computers to his role as a whistleblower. Snowden became president of the Freedom of the Press Foundation in 2016, a nonprofit that works to protect journalists from hacking and government surveillance.
