Elise Parsley's books are contemporary fiction with a humorous, kid-friendly streak. If You Ever Want to Bring a Circus to the Library, Don't! follows Magnolia, who argues against a well-meaning plan by laying out everything that could go wrong when a circus meets a library. Neck & Neck sits alongside it as a second work of contemporary fiction under the same name.
