Eliyahu M. Goldratt was an Israeli business management author who wrote The Goal, a business novel about a manager of a troubled factory who learns to find and lift the constraint limiting its output. He originated the Theory of Constraints and related tools such as Drum-Buffer-Rope and Critical Chain Project Management, and his business novels and nonfiction apply that approach to manufacturing and other processes. His other books include the sequel It's Not Luck and the nonfiction work The Choice. He died in 2011.
