Ellen Goodlett's novels are epic, high fantasy built around a kingdom in turmoil. The Rule series begins with Rule and continues with Rise, following three young women with secrets and unusual powers who are drawn into a dangerous struggle over the realm's future. Scheming at court, uneasy alliances and the question of whom to trust drive the story.
