Epeli Hau'ofa

Epeli Hau'ofa is a pen name, and the books published under it were written by the Tongan and Fijian writer and anthropologist Epeli Hau'ofa, who was born in the Territory of Papua to Tongan missionary parents. He lived in Fiji and taught at the University of the South Pacific, where he founded the Oceania Centre for Arts. His books include the satirical novel Kisses in the Nederends and the essay collection We Are the Ocean, both of which write about island life in the Pacific.
