Frank Hardy was an Australian novelist and writer, best known for his 1950 novel Power Without Glory. Later he turned to political activism, and his 1968 book The Unlucky Australians, written during the Gurindji Strike, brought the plight of Aboriginal Australians to international attention. Hardy also ran twice for the Australian parliament as a Communist Party of Australia candidate, unsuccessfully both times.
