Friedrich Nietzsche

Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher and writer who began as a classical philologist before turning to philosophy. He taught classical philology at the University of Basel from 1869 until resigning in 1879, and spent the following years writing in relative solitude while health problems troubled him. His books include The Gay Science, On the Genealogy of Morals, The Antichrist, and The Portable Nietzsche. He died in 1900.
