Gayl Jones is an American writer from Lexington, Kentucky, born in 1949. She published her debut novel, Corregidora, in 1975, followed by Eva's Man. Jones also released The Healing and Mosquito in the late 1990s, and in 2021 published Palmares, a novel that was a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
