Gwyn Thomas

Welsh writer Gwyn Thomas (1913–1981) was also a dramatist, a columnist for Punch, a radio broadcaster and a raconteur. He wrote A Welsh Eye, a personal portrait of Wales drawn from chapel life, coal-scarred landscapes and local politics, and Sorrow for Thy Sons, a historical novel. His other fiction includes All Things Betray Thee, a war novel, and The Alone to the Alone, a satire. He was described as the true voice of the English-speaking valleys.
