Helen Fielding

Helen Fielding is a British journalist, novelist and screenwriter best known as the creator of Bridget Jones. She started writing the character in an anonymous column for London's Independent newspaper, and the story grew into the novels Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Mad About the Boy, along with four films. Her first novel was set in a refugee camp in East Africa, and she has also written the spy thriller Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination.
