Helen Macdonald is an English writer and naturalist, best known for H is for Hawk, a memoir about training a goshawk while coming to terms with grief. The book won the 2014 Samuel Johnson Prize and the Costa Book Award, and in 2016 it took the Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger in France. Macdonald's other book, Vesper Flights, brings together essays and travel writing.
