Helon Habila

Helon Habila is a Nigerian novelist and poet, born in 1967, whose writing has won many prizes, including the Caine Prize in 2001. He has written novels such as Measuring Time, Oil on Water, Travellers and Waiting for an Angel. Before moving to England in 2002, where he was a Chevening Scholar at the University of East Anglia, he worked as a lecturer and journalist in Nigeria, and he now teaches creative writing at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
