Hisham Matar

Matar is an American-born British-Libyan novelist, essayist and memoirist, best known for The Return, a memoir about searching for a missing father, which won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography. Matar's debut novel, In the Country of Men, was shortlisted for the 2006 Man Booker Prize, and the author has since written Anatomy of a Disappearance and My Friends. Matar's essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The Guardian and The New York Times.
