Hugh Howey

Hugh Howey is an American writer of science fiction, and his Silo series opens with Wool, followed by Shift and Dust. The books, set in a future where people live inside an underground silo, inspired the Apple TV series Silo. He first published independently through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing, later signed distribution deals with large publishers, and kept control of his e-book publishing. He also wrote Little Noises, the first book in the Beacon 23 series.
