Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thompson was an American journalist and author best known for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1972), a book first serialized in Rolling Stone about the failure of the 1960s counterculture. He rose to prominence with Hell's Angels (1967), and he is regarded as a pioneer of New Journalism through his Gonzo style, in which the writer takes part in the story. He also wrote Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 and died in 2005 at the age of 67.
