Ijeoma Oluo is an American writer, born in 1980, and the author of So You Want to Talk About Race. She has written for The Guardian, Jezebel, The Stranger, and Medium, and was an editor-at-large at The Establishment. Her writing covers racism, feminism, online harassment, and social justice, and she has been based in Seattle. Her essay book Mediocre turns to ambition, belonging, and who gets to be seen as exceptional.
