James S. A. Corey

James S. A. Corey is the pen name of collaborators Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who write The Expanse, a space opera series that runs from Leviathan Wakes and Caliban's War through Persepolis Rising. The first and last names come from the authors' middle names, and the initials S. A. belong to Abraham's daughter. The name is also meant to echo the space opera writers of the 1970s. Corey's other books include The Mercy of Gods, part of The Captive's War.
