Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow

Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow's books are contemporary fiction with young readers in mind. Mommy's Khimar follows a girl who plays dress-up in her mother's head scarves and finds a piece of her mother's love in each one. It is a picture book set in a Muslim American community, with colorful pictures throughout. Your Name Is a Song sits alongside it as another work of contemporary fiction.
