Jessica Mary Best's books move between genres. Stars, Hide Your Fires is a science fiction mystery in which Cass, a thief from a minor moon, goes to an emperor's ball on a palace station to steal a fortune and ends up the prime suspect when the emperor turns up dead. You Pierce My Soul is a contemporary romance.
