Jhumpa Lahiri is a British-American author known for short stories, novels and essays written in English and, more recently, in Italian. Her debut collection, Interpreter of Maladies (1999), won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and her novels include The Namesake (2003) and The Lowland (2013), which was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize. Her work explores the Indian-immigrant experience in America. After moving to Rome in 2012, she began writing in Italian with the novel Dove mi trovo (2018) and the story collection Roman Stories (2023).
