Joe McGinniss (1942–2014) was an American non-fiction writer and novelist who first drew attention with The Selling of the President 1968, which described how Richard Nixon was marketed as a candidate. He was best known for his true crime trilogy, Fatal Vision, Blind Faith and Cruel Doubt, later adapted into television miniseries. His other books include the travel and journalism work The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro and The Rogue, his final book, an account of Sarah Palin.
