John Darnielle

John Darnielle is an American musician and novelist, born in 1967, best known as the writer, vocalist and primary member of the indie folk band the Mountain Goats, which he started in 1991. Alongside those songs he has written three novels: Wolf in White Van (2014), Universal Harvester (2017), and Devil House (2022). Devil House follows a true-crime writer who moves into a Northern California house tied to a double murder, and the line between research and obsession slowly blurs.
