Jonathan Haidt is an American social psychologist and author who studies the psychology of morality and moral emotions. He wrote The Righteous Mind (2012), which argues that moral judgments are shaped more by emotion and intuition than by reasoning, and explains why political groups disagree about right and wrong. His other books include The Happiness Hypothesis (2006), on ancient philosophy and modern science, and The Anxious Generation (2024), on smartphones and childhood.
