K.X. Song's books are epic fantasy. The Night Ends with Fire opens a series that blends fantasy with historical and war fiction, set in a world drawn from Chinese history and myth, where a soldier and a rebel find themselves on opposite sides of a war as an old prophecy plays out. The Dragon Wakes with Thunder is another work of epic, high fantasy.
