Ken Kesey

Ken Kesey was an American novelist and essayist. His first novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, follows a rebel who clashes with a mental ward, and his second, Sometimes a Great Notion, follows an Oregon logging family. He saw himself as a link between the Beat Generation and the 1960s hippies, and he led the Merry Pranksters, whose Acid Tests mixed LSD with multimedia shows. Later he settled in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, and wrote for magazines including Esquire.
