Kevin Young is an American poet whose collections include Jelly Roll: A Blues, a National Book Award finalist in 2003, along with Brown, Stones, and The Hungry Ear. Young has also directed the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library and the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, and was named poetry editor of The New Yorker in 2017. A Guggenheim Fellow, Young held the Atticus Haygood Professorship in English and Creative Writing at Emory University.
