Laura Bates is an English feminist writer whose first book, Everyday Sexism, came out in 2014. She founded the Everyday Sexism Project website in April 2012, and its collection of more than 200,000 testimonies about gender inequality has branches in 25 countries. Her journalism has appeared in the Guardian, the Telegraph and the New York Times, and won a British Press Award in 2015. Her other books include The New Age of Sexism, on the ways artificial intelligence is being used against women, and Men Who Hate Women, about extremism.
