Laura Hillenbrand is an American author of books and magazine articles, best known for two nonfiction books: Seabiscuit: An American Legend, about a small racehorse of the Great Depression, and Unbroken, about Louis Zamperini's survival in World War II. Together the two have sold more than 10 million copies, and each was adapted for film. Hillenbrand wrote them while disabled by myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
