Lena Khalaf Tuffaha is a Palestinian American poet, essayist, and translator, best known for Something About Living, which won the 2024 National Book Award for Poetry. The same book took the Washington State Book Award and the George Ellenbogen Poetry Award in 2025. Her first collection, Water & Salt, won the 2018 Washington State Book Award for Poetry, and Tuffaha has published three poetry collections and two chapbooks. Her books move through family, displacement, and everyday survival.
