Leonardo Sciascia was an Italian writer, novelist, essayist, playwright and politician, born in 1921 and died in 1989. Sciascia's mystery The Day of the Owl was adapted into a 1968 film, and Equal Danger follows a string of murders that pulls a country into fear and suspicion. Other Sciascia books include the literary novel To Each His Own, and Todo Modo and Illustrious Corpses were also made into films.
