Ludwig Bemelmans

Ludwig Bemelmans was an American writer and illustrator, best known for the 1939 picture book Madeline and the Madeline series that followed, including Madeline's Rescue. He also wrote humorous memoirs about his years working in the upscale hotels and restaurants of New York City, and he made illustrations on the walls of Bemelmans Bar. Bemelmans died in 1962.
