M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin

M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin's books are satirical literary fiction. The Golovlyov Family is a dark, funny novel about a Russian landowning family whose greed, hypocrisy and cruelty slowly eat away at the household and leave little behind. The History of a Town is satire too, with a historical-fiction bent.
