Margot Lee Shetterly is an American nonfiction writer best known for Hidden Figures, her account of African-American women mathematicians who worked at NASA and helped the United States win the space race. The book was adapted into the 2016 feature film of the same name. A picture book version for children aged six to ten also carries her name. She has also worked in investment banking and media startups, and for several years she and her husband lived in Mexico, where they founded Inside Mexico, a magazine for English-speaking readers.
